Whether to Whither the Weather

The weather here has been hot and muggy lately.  It’s not as bad as Houston, but it’s close enough to where you sweat like a pig if you spend any length of time outside.  It’s amazing that just a few months ago I was wearing 18 layers of clothes under my old Navy uniform peacoat just to avoid freezing my balls off, and now I’m walking around in shorts and a t-shirt.

Right now it’s raining like a bastard, a real summer thunderstorm.  Great flashes of lightning followed by rolling booms of thunder.  It’s not even six in the evening and it’s pitch black outside.

Great stuff, I always love a good storm.  That was one thing about Texas that I missed living in California, the summer thunderstorms.

Just got back from Las Vegas, where the humidity was about -5000 and the temperature was well over 100.

As much as I enjoy a good thunderstorm, I’ll stick to Seattle, where it just drizzles.  Thunderstorms bring tornadoes, hail, downpours, flash floods, and people getting struck by lightning…

That’s what I love about East Texas.  Interesting weather, except for July - August.  Then it’s just monotonously hot and humid.
