The Bird’s Nest
We went out yesterday and did a little sightseeing, and on the way home I had the driver swing past the new Olympic Stadium, which is designed to look like a bird’s nest. We had to park illegally on the side of the freeway, and there were maybe 20 cars there already. Right as we got there the police showed up telling everyone to get the hell out, so I only had about 20 seconds to take the picture.

One of the funny things about the name Bird’s Nest is that this is the slang term used by expats here to describe the “nether regions” of Chinese women. While many young women have adopted a number of western habits, that sort of “personal grooming” is not a common one. Thus “the bird’s nest.” I know one English guy who refuses to date Chinese women because he “can’t stand the bird’s nest.”
Most Chinese girls don’t pluck their eyebrows, either.
