It’s Back to HBO
Yesterday my Chinese DVD player went on the fritz. Goddamn it, when I spend $35 on a piece of home electronics I expect it to work longer than 5 months.
I really need to get my pirate satellite dish hooked up.

No worries. From what I’ve been reading here, you should be able to make back the money to buy a new player (even an HD-DVD, probably) in oh, about.... 14 minutes.
In the meantime, what’s the Chinese phrase for “let the buyer beware”, Lee?
Next time, get a genuine Sormy....
I just bought a new one, a Chinese brand called Malata. I asked the guy in there if they had any Blu-Ray players yet, and he said they would have some in a few weeks. So I bought another $35 player, and as long as it works until the Blu-Ray players come out I’ll be happy.
You can also buy a huge sweet-ass Hitachi HDTV for less than a grand here. I might just have to purchase one eventually and move my current HDTV (which is a lot smaller) into my bedroom.
I highly recommend DLP for HDTVs, especially for higher elevations. Blows plasma and LCD away from what I’ve seen.
