Today is a national holiday in China, Tomb Sweeping Day. It’s when the Chinese go to the graves or tombs of their ancestors and clean them out, to show respect for them. So they clean out the tomb, put in fresh flowers, that sort of thing.
Since I’m not Chinese this has become Alcohol Swigging Day, to be followed by Partying Your Balls Off Night, culminating in Saturday Morning Hangover.
OK, then. Maybe you are an alkie. Or maybe just a drunk, I dunno, not much difference, really. Who the fuck cares anyway? Not to change the subject, but I just plopped down $30 US on a pith helmet. Quite possibly the most comfortable summertime headgear known to man. And without exception the most racist piece of clothing known to man, what with all the implicit connotatations of British imperialism. You should get one.
When does it become “Summon the Kraken” Day? With all that booze, you don’t know what might happen....
